Founded in 1820, Albert Morot is an iconic estate in Beaune, owning 8 hectares of red and white Premier Cru vineyards, farmed organically.

Most of the estate’s production comes from a rare collection of some of the finest terroirs within the Beaune Premier Cru appellation: Bressandes, Grèves, Aigrots, Teurons, Marconnets, Cent-Vignes and Toussaints, as well as the renowned Clos de la Bataillère Premier Cru monopole in Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Vergelesses. Albert Morot also produces wines from Pommard, Auxey-Duresses, Meursault, as well as Bourgogne Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Since 2023, the estate has been managed by Pierre-Jean Villa, a renowned Rhône Valley winemaker who returned to his Burgundian roots. Together with the family group of Guillaume and Sophie Poitrinal, the new owners, Pierre-Jean has overseen numerous improvements aimed at further enhancing the quality of the wines.

Recognition has already followed. Albert Morot wines feature on the wine lists of numerous Michelin-starred restaurants and have received outstanding ratings from leading wine critics, including Bettane+Desseauve, the Guide de la RVF, Allen Meadows, Jasper Morris and Bill Nanson.

Albert Morot also welcomes visitors: a tasting cellar offers the opportunity to taste and purchase wines on site, while the château hosts seminars and luxury stays throughout the year, in the heart of the vineyards and just a 10-minute walk from the Hospices de Beaune.
